The PBMT allows users to view live TV from the bedside. It supports up to 99 channels and has a built in virtual remote control. The touch screen interface makes it easy to change channels and adjust volume.
The PBMT displays live TV by joining IP multicast streams being delivered over the network. It supports the MPG data format which typically requires a network bandwidth of 4 MBits/ second for each channel. The IT team can program the correct IP address for each channel using a web based administrator application. This application is hosted in a datacenter and allows all functions for each TV across multiple facilities to managed from a single point of access.
